Piumi Hansamali’s Son Remanded in Assault Case
Colombo, Sri Lanka — Six suspects, including the son of popular model Piumi Hansamali, were ordered to be remanded by court in connection with an alleged assault on a three‑wheeler driver in the Kalapaluwawa area of Rajagiriya. The order came from Colombo Additional Magistrate Nuwan Kaushalya, who remanded them until February 16, 2026.

According to the Welikada Police, the incident stemmed from a road accident involving a motorcycle ridden by a friend of Hansamali’s son. After the collision with a three‑wheeler, the group allegedly attacked the driver, leaving him injured and later admitted to the National Hospital in Colombo for treatment.
The suspects were arrested following a formal complaint by the injured driver, and are now awaiting further legal proceedings, including an identification parade scheduled by authorities as part of the investigation.
The case has drawn significant public attention and adds to ongoing scrutiny involving figures connected with the high‑profile model, whose business and personal legal matters have been the subject of multiple investigations in recent years.
